How to Learn Japanese by Watching Netflix?
Many language learners like to put the subtitles in their native language while watching series. This helps to detect phrases and notice language differences. But what if it were possible to see the subtitles in both languages?
The tip below works practically with any language; just install a browser extension, and your learning while consuming material from Netflix will improve significantly.
There are probably more than one extension aimed at studying Japanese with Netflix, but today we will specifically talk about the extension called Language Learning with Netflix.
With this extension installed, when watching a series in Japanese on Netflix, it will show the subtitles in Portuguese normally and include the dialogues in Japanese with ideograms and romaji. Perfect, especially for making Flashcards.

Therefore, aiming to give you suggestions on what to watch, we will leave the buttons below. We hope you enjoy the lists. If you do, please share and leave your comments on each of them.
Animelon: a possible alternative
The animelon, for example, is a site where you can watch your animes while following and reading the subtitles in Japanese, English, and/or in romanized form. The site was created to help those who want to learn Japanese with animes, as it offers some options and tools that really assist in this goal.
Moreover, with animelon, it is possible to choose which types of subtitles will appear in the video, allowing you to remove the English subtitles, add a subtitle in hiragana, and/or even entirely in katakana. You can create a loop of a certain phrase and repeat it until you learn it. The site also offers tools for those who create an account and vocabulary quizzes. Using extensions like rikai-kun or rikai-champ, along with jisho and anki, the usability and utility of the service become even better for the user.
However, in some browsers, the resolution of the animes may be displayed altered, and the site may present some bugs.
Netflix, Crunchyroll, or Prime Video? Honest opinion.
Nowadays, unlike what happened in the 90s (and early 2000s), animes are not shown as frequently on open television. However, with the success of streaming services, animes and Japanese series have started to be constantly displayed on these online platforms – Netflix, Crunchyroll, Prime Video, Funimation, among others. With the advancement in combating the irregular display (piracy) of these animes on websites, streaming services have monopolized (rightfully) the broadcasting rights of numerous animes, making it often necessary to subscribe to these platforms to watch the new animes released periodically throughout the year.
